Hank Steinbrenner: by his own protesting - "not stupid".

Call me crazy, but I think that the young, fair Hank is going to make quite a spectacle of himself in the next few years.

Interestingly enough, this is the quote from the incident regarding the David Ortiz jersey that was buried in a concrete slab by a member of Red Sox Nation (you know, the Nation that "doesn't exist" according to good ol' Hank….)  “I hope his co-workers kick the s--- out of him,” adding that the buried jersey was “a bunch of bull----.”    Well, my dear Hank -- if it was really just a bunch of droppings from a bull….why would you insist they jackhammer the jersey out?  And wish that injury befalls the worker?

Now you're going to sue him.  For what? What was that jersey hurting, anyway?  Red Sox Nation is something that "ESPN made up", right?  So what's the problem?  It's "Yankees Country" as you stated.  I think the quote even went on to say "pinstripes are everywhere".  Hmmm.

Oh no Hank, you're not stupid.  You're out of your ever loving mind!

hahhaa, I know. There's something to be said about "doth protest too loudly..."

J - Waller, is this you???

While I'd love to think that the "j" stood for Jason, and that my humor is what inspired last night's home run, alas....I tend to think that's not the case. "J", whomever you are - I TRIED to leave the post on the NY Post Yankees blog - and was told it was unaccepted due to "questionable content"? Not sure what that means, given the rude comments that were posted prior to mine. But, I tried...

Hank knows exactly what he is doing. That guy is a business man, first and foremost, more so than George. I have listened and read interviews with Hank in the past, dealing with business. He jumped all over this like free tickets behind home plate!!!

And don't think that the Sox ownership group is giving a wink wink to Hank either.

Don't think Hank's comments have not been thought out and calculated. The Yanks, the Red Sox...hell, even Bud Selig, INC...are loveing EVERY MINUTE OF THIS!!! Why? It makes them more money.

These ownership groups want the regular Jane/Joe fan to feeled loved just as much as Jane/Joe loves them. Passion for sports (or anything else, for that matter)is directly linked to our wallets. Wallets that will be opened up for tickets to the game, that replica jersey/hat at the department store, TV subscriptions, ratings that other companies will pay top dollar to advertise with.

I agree with you that "the young, fair Hank is going to make quite a spectacle of himself in the next few years." But it is calculated. And it will be encouraged by all parties involved.
