Its beginning to look alot like Christmas...

Tonight, we did our traditional decorating of the tree. Hot chocolate, holiday music, snacks...lots of "oohs and ahhhs" as my son saw ornaments that he did not remember from last year - as of course, he's only 4. My daughter unfortunately was not with us when we finished - she was in bed, but of course - every night is an official "lighting", so I can't wait to capture her expression tomorrow when we turn on the lights. And while the tree was up when she went to bed, she's going to love all the colors and "fluffy" ornaments that are on there now. There's nothing better than living vicariously through your children....

Photographs don't do a tree any justice when it's lit...but I thought I'd share the finished product anyway! From older ornaments made by my mom when I was a child (including my teddy bear angel topper, which I hadn't straightened out prior to taking this picture...oops!), to new Victorian and "fou fou" ornaments, to ornaments given to us over the years from close friends, to ornaments made by our son - our tree is a reflection of who we are. To me, it says "home".

Tomorrow - the caterpillar will become a butterfly because the house will not only be completely decorated inside - but the outside will be lit as well.

And then....my aching back can relax!

I love it! I've collected ornaments from everywhere I've traveled for the past 20 years, and my son has started as well. Creates special memories when decorating the tree. Yours is spectacular!

What fun.

Each year after Chrismas Echo and I buy decorations when they are cheap. The following year we do the tree in a new theme.

Hey Rebecca! Naive-no-more wanted me to let you know her puter's on the blink and she'll be back as soon as she can, which who knows when that will be, but ... just so you know!

Rebecca, I'm not sure what the problem is, but each time I try to go to your site, my computer freezes and logs off the internet. I'm suprised I'm able to comment at all today. As soon as I post it though, I'll get kicked off.

Anyway, your tree is beautiful! Who would have expected anything different. ;)

I sure hope I'm able to get this straightened out soon. I miss reading your posts.

Hey All!
Big Ben: Yup - purple living room; actually two tone. Dark purple and a silver/lavendar. The lighting in the photo doesnt do it any justice. Glad you like it! And thanks for popping in!

Laura, Ramblin', Cheryl, Steel,Clew, Kodi, ChesneyGirl: Thank you!!! (Actually, thank you ALL for thinking it's pretty!) I love it, it makes me feel all "glowy" when I look at it.

Cissa - Thank you for stopping by! Feel free to come and visit anytime :)

BWH: A different theme each year??? Very, very cool! What kinds of themes do you do?? I'd love to see pics...

Naive - I know that sometimes I get errors when I look at my site from work; if I hit my back button on the browser - it will kick me out of explorer; I think it depends on the version of explorer and the patches you have on it; there could be a conflict. Or there could be a conflict if you're running a pop up blocker.

ahhhhh! pretty! We always get a real tree, so if I put it up now it would be on the floor by Christmas! We have LOTS of decorations...but it isn't really "Christmas" until you get the tree.

Happy gazing!
