Are you kidding me...?

All day long people were in the store telling me how they were seeing other people in the bank all day withdrawing money from their account "in case" we get the hurricane.

Already some supermarkets have been emptied of water.

Really?

Because a hurricane only lasts a few hours anyway....not days. And I get that devastation left behind can be horrible, I'm certainly not downplaying the damage Mother Nature can cause.

Don't get me wrong, if we lived further south then it would be a different story. But up here in the North, storms fall apart long before they get to us.

We're New Englanders -- we're hearty stock.
What is up with all the hysteria?!?!

Oh what a night....

So, I guess my post from yesterday was oddly timed.

Today, the western part of the state was ravaged with tornados.

Probably some of the worst tornados we've ever seen -- one of the stations estimated that one of the two that touched down, was on the ground for 30 minutes. Craziness....

We've got thunderstorms my way - though they aren't nearly as severe as storms we've had previously; at least not yet. But here are a few shots of the sky from my front yard before they started.

So, here's a name for you: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

I have to tell you, I laugh every time he gets our media's attention. He is one of the funniest people I've ever seen. Truly. I think it's hysterical how he sort of just runs at the mouth, saying anything to anyone who will give him the time of day. And what's so sad is that our press sops it up like drippings off Thanksgiving turkey.

Did you know that he's going to plan a terrorist conference "next year" no less (how's that for urgency) on who the "real" purpetrators of 9/11 were. (Here's a spoiler for you - he thinks the American government did it. Clearly, he's a carrying card member of the crazy club.)
